Easter events in Coventry

Easter’s here!

And it is oh so tempting to flop in front of the TV with a sickening amount of chocky.

But there are alternatives, even when it is raining in Coventry.

Here are some ideas:

St Mary’s Guildhall (FREE and open Sunday and Monday, 10am – 4pm)
Find out how they amputated limbs in the 17th Century or how heavy armour was.
The 1605 Living History Society will be bringing Tudor and Stuart England to life with interactive displays.

Rugby (Saturday, 3pm)
Coventry RFC clash with London Walsh at Butts Park Arena.
£15 adults, students £10, U16s £5, U4s free.

Easter Fair (Friday 6pm– 10.00pm, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 1pm – 10pm)
All the fun of the err .. fair on Hearsall Common

The Herbert (FREE and open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 10am- 5.30pm, from 12pm Sunday)
Through Other Eyes: Contemporary Art From South Asia
La Bouche Du Roi: An Artwork By Romuald Hazoume

Classical music (Saturday 2.30pm)
Spires Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus play Haydn and Beethoven at Holy Trinity Church Broadgate.

Woodturning (Saturday)
Have a go at woodturning courtesy of local enthusiasts at Coombe Country Park.

Medieval Combat (Sunday and Monday, 11pm – 5pm) 
Meet knights in shining armour, countesses, squires and damsels at Kenilworth Castle.
Adults £8.50, concession £7.50, children £5, family £22.00

Warwick Castle (everyday 10am – 6pm)

Coventry Transport Museum (Everyday, 10am –5pm)
Tour this great museum for FREE or visit the Dr Who exhibition (adults £8, children £5, family £22, under 4s free).
There are mask making and other child friendly workshops too this weekend.

Easter themed trail at the Heritage Motor Centre (All weekend 10am – 5pm)
Win easter-themes treats.
Adults £9, 5 to 15 year-olds £7, U5s free, family ticket £28

Aircraft history at Midland Air Museum (all weekend, 10am – 5pm)
No Easter theme but plenty to see.

Stoneleigh Abbey tours (guided tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm every day)
Tours at the historic abbey start this weekend.
Adults £6.50, children £3

Stratford Butterfly Farm (everyday 10am – 6pm)
Explore the wonders of the butterfly world here.
