THE killers of Coventry father George Devonish stole a laptop computer and mobile phone after the murder, police have revealed.
Mr Devonish, 30, died from head and chest injuries during an attack in Violet Close, Wood End.
He was last seen alive on December 3 but his body was not discovered until concerned friends broke into his home the following day.
Police have already said his trademark gold chain and bracelet were snatched following the assault.
Now they have revealed his killers also escaped with a silver Sony VAIO laptop computer and a white and green Sony Ericsson K660i phone.
They say finding the technology could be the key to solving the case.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Bimson said: “I am releasing details of these additional stolen items in the hope that it will encourage someone who knows something to come forward or provide information that will help this enquiry.
“We are working really hard to bring those who did this to justice as soon as possible.
“It doesn’t matter how trivial you believe your information to be, it could be vital to our investigation.”
He added: “All information is treated in the strictest of confidence and support is available for those who are frightened to come forward.”
The West Midlands Police Major Investigation Team, based at Chace Avenue, have had over 70 officers and staff working on the case.
On December 22 Mr Devonish’s family made a tearful plea for any witnesses to come forward.
A poem penned by his eight-year-old son Kaine was read to a press conference.
