Jam packed with records, CDs, T-shirts and all sorts of merchandise, it’s a rocker’s haven. And Midnight Records isn’t just a shop, it acts as a hub for live music, with a notice board touting all the latest gigs and offering publicity for venues and acts.
Buying and selling second-hand CDs, DVDs and records, the store specializes in rock, metal and alternative – described as “anything from the Beatles to the Moody Blues to Metallica”.
Midnight Records appears to have a dedicated clientele who return to sift their way through the stock week after week. And while there’s a range of CDs, the shop is really a vinyl paradise, with owner Paul Taylor (pictured) ever ready to convert the most stuck-in-their-ways digital listener.
He told us: “I’ll always stock CDs while people ask for them.
“But records are so much better. They sound better, they look better – they even smell better!”
