Best bit: Finding yourself in a wildlife paradise
Worst bit: There could be a few more information boards telling visitors what to look out for

Set in 228 acres of marshland Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve is an oasis of wildlife.
There are five bird hides in which twitchers can sip flasked coffee and attempt to catch a glimpse of some of the 224 bird species spotted there. The on site shop sells binoculars at a not-super expensive £15 for those wanting to get a close look at our feathered friends.
There are also 490 plant species, a whopping 540 fungi species and so many insects no one has managed to count them all yet.
Touring the reserve is easy along the nature trails although it’s advisable to wear a pair of wellies. I didn’t so ended up muddy.
On a sunny day - with rays shimmering on the water and nothing but the sound of birds singing - Brandon Marsh offers a relaxing wildlife delight. (However wandering around in the rain would be miserable.)
