Best bit: There's nearly always some event of interest
Worst bit: Sitting in a dark room watching not very much on a big screen because, supposedly, it's "multimedia art"

The Herbert Art Gallery has to be one of Coventry's most intriguing buildings – a curiously curved concoction of timber and glass. It is also a cultural hub of the city. The gallery hosts a ream of exhibitions and events throughout the year.
It is well worth a look on a spare afternoon as curators are bound to have put on an event to tickle the brain cells.
The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum opened its doors for the first time in 1960. It is named after Sir Alfred Herbert - a Coventry industrialist who paid £200,000 to construct the building.
The gallery has recently undergone a £20m refurbishment and also has a cafe.
