Holy Trinity Church in Coventry
Bookmark and Share

The original spire of this church collapsed during a storm in 1665, killing a young boy.

Its 237ft replacement is one of Coventry’s famed three spires.

The church, as we see it today, was built between the 13th and 15th century although it has undergone much restoration since then.

Inside visitors will find The Doom painting – a work dating back to the 1430s and depicting the Last Judgement.

Coventry historian Rob Orland said: “The Doom painting has world wide fame, it’s one of the finest of its kind.

“In the 1980s Dr Steven Bassett wrote a book saying that Trinity Church may well have been one of the earliest churches in Coventry.”
