Best bit: Yummy healthy food that doesn’t taste like wet lettuce
Worst bit: Being attacked by pigeons as you eat outside

For healthy fast food, this is one of the best menus the city centre has to offer.
Giardinos has a salad bar that makes healthy eating look appealing.
A basic salad will cost £3.95, a vegetarian option £5.45, a meat topping £5.95 and a seafood theme £6.85. Takeaway is cheaper.
If you’re in need of a bit of stodge with your salad you can opt for a filling on a crusty ciabatta.
Giardinos popularity is evident in the lunchtime queue. The staff are a touch on the cheesy side (sometimes living up to the sleazy Italian stereotype with female customers) but thankfully the service is reasonably quick.
We can’t recommend Giardinos as an eat-in venue, simply because with little to no natural light, and McDonalds style seats and tables the inside is a tad depressing.
Outside would be the perfect tonic – lots of light but covered from the rain.
But the plague of pigeons, which scavenge scraps from tables and fly past your plate too close for comfort, stops us from recommending this either.
