ARMED robbers raided a Coventry DIY store days after stealing their getaway car from a mum and daughter.

Three men – equipped with a crowbar, shotgun and pistol – targeted B&Q; in Brandon Road, Willenhall, on Friday [Nov 21].

They threatened staff and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash before escaping in a black VW Golf.

Police now believe the same car was stolen from a Coventry woman on Wednesday.

The victim told police three masked men threatened her and her seven-year-old daughter after she had parked the vehicle in Allesley at 7pm.

Detective Inspector Bob Pettipher, of Chace Avenue police station, said: “When stolen the vehicle had very little fuel and may have needed to be refuelled at a local garage soon after it was stolen.

“The vehicle is still outstanding and has not been recovered.”

The car, registration number EA55 XBH, is still missing.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the car before or after the raid to phone 0845 113 5000.
