If you Google ‘Thai restaurant Coventry’, Thai Dusit is top of the list.

And, judging by our experience, it deserves to be there.

It’s an exotic but cosy little eatery in London Road.

For a starter to share we went for the Satay Jay (£3.95) - barbequed Thai style of vegetables and bean curd with peanut sauce.

The main reason we chose this was because the bean curd sounded interesting.

We soon discovered that bean curd was tofu, so not quite as exciting as we originally thought.

So the starter was OK.

The main courses were better. Much better.

I went for the Moo Pad Prik Pow (£7.50) - stir fried pork with bamboo shoots, onion, spring onion, celery, peppers, mushroom and flavoured with chilli oil.

My partner went for the Gai Yang (£7.50) - chicken roasted after marinating in honey, garlic & coconut milk.

We shared both dishes with a portion of coconut rice.

All the main courses were fabulous.

The chicken was sweet and succulent while the pork was tender and spicy.

Both of us loved the coconut rice but I couldn’t help feel like I had a pudding on the same plate as my main dish.

We ordered a Monsoon Valley white to wash down the meal - a good choice as it tasted of lychees and melon.

The bill, including service charge, came to just over £30.

And it was worth every penny.
