A BOLLYWOOD interpretation of Wuthering Heights is coming to The Belgrade.

Emily Brontë’s classic tale of passion, jealousy and revenge is relocated from the Yorkshire moors to the scorched desert landscape of Rajasthan.

Shakuntala, headstrong daughter of a spice merchant, falls for Krishan, a street urchin.

But can their adolescent love withstand India’s rigid social hierarchies and Shakuntala’s yearning for a life of luxury?

Influenced by Indian cinema, Wuthering Heights is the latest show from leading British Asian company, Tamasha – creator of East is East.

The show runs between June 9 and June 13.
