YOU see the surface everyday.

But below Coventry city centre is a vast series of 60-year-old caverns.

Last year a £4 million project to create a new public square in Ironmonger Row hit the buffers.

Engineers discovered the seldom seen cellars used by Primark for storage were at risk of collapse.

Now the scheme is back on track and Ironmonger Square is scheduled to be complete by February.

It’s All About Coventry went underground to see some of the caverns which could fit 64 bendy buses stacked four high.
